Timely Help to Needy Families in Umraniye

Coronavirus continues to affect our country badly as well as all over the world. In order to support elderly, chronically ill and needy families in our country during these difficult days, we launched a charity campaign with the slogan “Turkey! We are the solution to us” and we helped more than ten thousands needy people by giving food and hygiene parcels.

After we have completed the Eid al-Adha activities, we continue quickly from where we left off. Care Association and the Red Crescent (Kizilay) held a joint organization for needy families in Istanbul, Umraniye and prepared boxes with hygiene-cleaning materials and distributed them to these families.

In coordination with the Red Crescent, families in need were identified and two different hygiene packages were prepared for these families. Some of the packages were prepared as a standard hygiene package intended for adult families, while another one was prepared as a child hygiene package which contained “diapers and cleaning products for children” was intended for families with children.

We delivered hygiene packages to about 400 people in need in two separate areas in Umraniye. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we visited families at different times and delivered hygiene packages to them in accordance with hygiene rules.

By staying in our home as much as possible and paying attention to our personal cleanliness, we can prevent together pandemic of coronavirus (Covid-19) that affects our lives badly.
