Humanitarian Aid in the region of Operation Peace Spring

What Happened in the region?

On October 9, 2019, Operation Peace Spring was started in order to bring peace and tranquility to the region and to eliminate the terrorist corridor that was trying to be established on Turkey's southern border. More than 600 settlements have been cleared from the terrorists since the operation began about 1.5 years ago, and the wounds of the people of the region have been healed.

Humanitarian aid from Care Association

There is a rush of the children in Tel Abyad who have fear in their eyes and lost their excitement. We can also translate the word "yumma", which means mother as “desperation" into our language.

Care Association continues and strives to reach families in need thru humanitarian aid northern Syria. In this sense, we distributed food packages with our heroic Turkish soldiers to 400 needy families in the towns and villages of the Tel Abyad District of Syria, which was cleared from the terrorist organization called YPG/PKK. On this occasion, we also express our gratitude to our heroic Turkish soldiers who bring peace wherever they go.

There are flour, legumes and ready-made food products in our food packages that were distributed to families in need. The families we helped stated that there was almost no food aid in the region since the first days of the operation.

"Bring what you have and what belongs to us!"

An old man from the local people reproached to our team, which is carrying out aid activities in the area, saying: “Bring what you have and what belongs to us!"Although we could not understand quickly at first, what he demanded from us was actually the right of a Muslim to another Muslim, the right of a person to  another person. It was the right of unfortunate ones,orphans, and children.

What can we do for the region?

After the operation was over, the Turkish military forces have maintained intensive security in Tal Abyad and have provided the passages of the routes at many points.  As a new post-war life begins to form here for our brothers, they need us very much. As Care Association, we bring your help to our brothers who are struggling for life. We expect your support for them, so it will ease the burden of these families who are trying to hold onto the life in Syria.
