2020 | Wajib Qurban Organization in Ethiopia

Thousands of children die from malnutrition and infectious diseases every year in Ethiopia, the only country in Africa that has never been occupied or colonized, known as the “land of the virtuous”. In many parts of Ethiopia, which has a population of 76 million, people survive with the aids from outside.

As Care Association, we have not forgotten the descendants of the Abyssinian King Najashi, who accepted Muslims from Mecca to his country at the birth of Islam and took them under his protection. We have slaughtered qurbans in the surrounding villages of Gasera and in Robe which is at the province of Bale in Ethiopia.

The Qurbans had been slaughtered in Gasera and nearby villages, 60 km from Robe in previous years. This year, we concentrated on the city of Robe and the surrounding areas for the first time since big Muslim community live in this area. At the same time, we were the only Association conducted qurban organization in this region .

As for the last 5 years, in this year, 33 thousand Muslim families in total were distributed qurban meats in the villages of Gasera and surrounding villages and in the city of Robe.
